Who We Are

Who We Are

Our Roots

Christ Anglican Church is a member of the worldwide, 79 million member strong, Anglican Communion and the Anglican Church of North America. Christ Church was established in 2003 to fill a void in the Highlands/Cashiers, NC area for a faithful place to continue the Christian Journey in the Anglican tradition. Because of growth in our beautiful NC mountain area, and more people accepting our invitation to join our Christian family odyssey, we have purchased and renovated a property in Cashiers for God’s kingdom purposes. Newly dedicated in 2016 and continuing to grow, we work, pray, and plan for the future of God’s kingdom.

Our Mission

Our mission is Jesus’ very own, to invite all the world along on this saving journey, to build our faith and to go out in Christ’s love. Our motto points the way: A House of Prayer for All Nations. We go forth to put into practice his Word, to share the Good News, to teach, to worship, to pray and to minister with the confidence that God’s presence is with us— all while following in the orthodox and faithful traditions handed down to us from Jesus himself.

Our Vision

Our vision comes directly from our mission and from the earliest Christian traditions. In the first century the church grew because it came together to study Jesus’ life as it was shared with them and as they themselves had experienced it. Further, they came together for common worship, fellowship, and prayer so that they might find inner strength and purpose for their journey. Finally, they directed their attention outward to invite others to join them and to minister in their newfound love, in the power of the Holy Spirit. We, the family of Christ Anglican, envision ourselves as a growing faith community brought together by the love of God, sustained by his Word, and empowered by his Spirit. All of this we do together in an effort to reach our full potential for the benefit of his kingdom, our neighbors, and ourselves.
